Logitech has increasingly required consumers to use its proprietary G HUB application, particularly for gaming peripherals. This software is necessary for performing even basic device configurations, such as adjusting or turning off LEDs on mice and keyboards. The G HUB application also collects user data, raising concerns about privacy and data usage.

Logitech G HUB does not officially support Linux, and there are no plans to add support as of 2025. Some linux users recommend alternatives such as piper or Solaar instead; however, these tools do not support all Logitech products.
