How can I create a new page?[edit | edit source]

There are a few ways to create a new page in this wiki:

  • Use the "Create a page" link." In the side bar, click the "Create a page" link and, you will be prompted to choose an article type and choose a title. Afterwards a basic structure fo the page will be provided for you along with some basic guidelinees and an example page to go off of.
  • Use the search bar. Search the title of the page you want to create. You will be prompted to create a new page if the page does not exist already.
  • Using red links. Click any red link, which looks like this, around the wiki and you will be redirected to a page creation interface.
  • Using the URL https://wiki.rossmanngroup.com/wiki/ARTICLETITLE. Replace ARTICLETITLE in the URL with the title of the page you want to create. You will be taken to a blank page where you can click Edit (at the top navigation bar) and create your new page.

How do I add references to an article?[edit | edit source]

There are two ways to create references.

  1. Using the visual editor.
    • Click Insert -> More -> Basic reference.
    • Another way is to type <ref and the reference insertion dialog will pop up.
    • A third way is to use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+K.
    • In order to reuse a reference you have already added click Insert -> More -> Re-use reference.
  2. Using the source editor.
    • Enclose your reference between these tags <ref name="source-1"> </ref>.
    • Adding a name is not required but lets you re-use the source by inserting <ref name="source-1" /> later.

Note: Don't forget to add a References section at the bottom of the article so that the complete list of references appears at the end!

Why do I get an error when trying to upload images and files?[edit | edit source]

Due to several instances of spam, brand new accounts can't immediately upload files. If you make a few edits or other contributions around the wiki, you will be able to upload files soon.

Why can't I remove the stub/irrelevant/tone notice from my article?[edit | edit source]

In order to ensure the contributions in the wiki fit the Mission statement and comply with Wiki policy, only moderators can remove the notices.

We try to regularly go through the pages, but if you want you can use the #appeals channel on our Discord server (Join using this link) to ask us to review your page.

If you do not use Discord, you can use the talk pages on the wiki and leave a message to any of the moderators. Click here for a list of the current moderators.

I can't see the CAPTCHA on the discussion pages. How can I leave my reply?[edit | edit source]

This is a known issue with the extension we are using. It has been reported and is being worked on by the developers.

Please use the source editor on the talk page and reply following the Talk page guidelines until this is resolved.

Once you become a trusted contributor, you will not need to complete CAPTCHAs anymore and will be able to use the discussion pages.
