I'm still working on the formatting and topics of the article; I just wanted to get the references down and get the page started.
More research is needed, and suggestions are welcome for the structure of the article.
Article name change proposal[edit source]
Calling it a data "theft" comes on quite strong, and is terminology I wouldn't be happy using unless it had been described as such by a judge in a relevant court ruling. Perhaps change to 'General Motors Data Collection and Sharing Controversy'? Or something with a similar tone.
