Tinder
Tinder, created in 2012, is a dating app that allows you to find other people to forms relationships.
Subscribing
Just as many dating sites in practice today, it's a one-click to start a subscription for you. (Of course, you need to enter your credit card and address information)
Unsubscribing
If a user wishes to terminate their reoccurring subscription, they are expected to go through many hoops and tricks in order to finally get unsubscribed.
Subscription Costs
Tinder uses a deceptive method in order to display its reoccurring subscription costs. To try to obscure their true costs, they list the costs as weekly versus the true monthly costs charged to your card.
Subscription Plans
Tinder has three subscription plans that give users various benefits depending on their plan, which is listed below.
Plus
You can't see who likes you nor can you contact them unless they match you as well. This is already included in their free plan already.
Gold
You can see who likes you, however you're still not able to message them unless they match with you as well.
Platinum
Finally, you can send a message to somebody before first matching with them.
Cancelling a Subscription
They make it very inconvenient and difficult to understand how to cancel. First, the information for this is not located on the bottom of their page.
Point number one is canceling your account on the Tinder service will not cancel your subscription!
If you used Apple Pay, they require you to go back to Apple and use "Report a problem" in order to cancel your service.
If you used Google Play, then they're going to require you to go back to Google Play. In their own documentation, they say that this means you have to request assistance from Google Play. Assuming this means that there is no direct buttons to push to facilitate this action.
If you paid directly using a credit card, they don't actually tell you how to cancel it, so you may have to do a charge back. They warn that if the charge back is unsuccessful that they will keep all your funds. Additionally, They say it is at their discretion that they may delete your account, and/or possibly continue charging your card Until you cancel it with your "External Service Account"
