For plain spoken transparency, we hope that the users who engage in this wiki and the community empowering it, will understand the intention and ethic behind it. We expect those who wish to contribute here, to do so in good faith and without bias or conflicts of interest. We hope to rarely if ever need to utilize this process, but it exists and has provisions to ensure we can resolve Trust and Safety concerns presented by (potentially) anonymous users with no friction or inaccuracy.
The likelihood this will happen to you as a normal wiki user, is '''low-to-none'''.

Nearly every webpage, project, or API hosted on the internet and intended for an end-user consumer has a Privacy Policy.

Equally, every time you visit a website, you're exchanging some of your information with the host of that website; regardless of how "privacy friendly" they advertise themselves to be, in order to simply load the webpage itself.

For select administrative or moderative purpose, our security vendor may require you to complete a series of KYC checks. More specifically, we may require you to provide a set of personal details and upload a photo of a government-issued ID alongside a series of selfies.

We may ask this of you in order to...

  • Personally identify intentionally biased, illicitly paid, or otherwise unethically compensated editors
  • Prevent corporate astroturfing and brand-aligned disinformation operations from corrupting our wiki 'without consequence'
  • Raise the bar of (and implement a reasonable expectation of) trust within the content we provide
  • Investigate and resolve reports of criminal behavior committed or performed via our wiki

This information is collected and processed solely for purposes of Trust and Safety. Information collected within this process is never sold, and is secured to meet industry-typical compliance checkpoints like PCI v4, SOC1/2/3, and others. It will never be shared with unauthorized parties. Biometric data will be deleted 1 year from the date of collection. Non-biometric data will be deleted 3 years from the date of collection. Your consent is needed to participate in this process; but you have the right to decline participation. Should you refuse, your account may be locked and/or banned, with edits reverted. If editing anonymously, you may not be given a chance to engage in this process without receiving an IP ban as we may have no provision to identify and communicate with you.

The likelihood this will happen to you as a normal wiki user, is low-to-none.
